Once again this year, BAU Centro Universitario de Artes y Diseño de Barcelona is widely represented in the finalists of the Premios Laus for Graphic Design and Visual Communication with 11 shortlisted projects.
The awards, given by the ADG-FAD (Association of Graphic Designers of the Promotion of the Decorative Arts), have recognized excellence in design projects in five main categories since 1964: Graphic Design, Digital, Advertising, Audiovisual and Students. The Laus promote design, project its cultural and economic importance for society, and support the professional environment. The awards are based on six criteria: idea, execution, functionality, contribution, consistency and sustainability.
This year, the 52nd edition of the Laus Awards recognised 11 projects by BAU students. In this year’s edition, the school has won five finalists in Graphic Design and six in Audiovisual.
With these 11 selected projects, the centre renews its idyll with the Laus Awards and obtains its second best list of winners in recent years, only surpassed by the 14 awards in 2019.
This year’s jury will include professors Óscar Guayabero and Núria Vila, alumni Ferran Mitjans and Sergio Lairisa (Young Talent 2021) and former professor Enric Aguilera, who will star in a new BAU Talks on 14 May.
