The portrait of an era where the most hidden desires constantly struggle against social pressure
L’aranya, by Àngel Guimerà, arrives for the first time at the Sala Gran of the TNC from 30/01/25 to 09/03/25. With dramaturgy and direction by Jordi Prat i Coll, who approaches the classic from a very personal perspective.
One of the great yet-to-be-discovered works of a contemporary Guimerà that speaks of hidden desires. L’aranya portrays the illusions and disappointments, loves and heartbreaks, loyalties and betrayals of a couple unable to conceive a child. An unsettling play filled with tension, where a grocery store becomes the stage for the most hidden desires and the social pressures of a closed society.
With the aim of bringing TNC productions to the entire Catalan-speaking region, L’aranya will go on tour after its performances at the Sala Gran. The TNC goes on tour is a joint initiative of the TNC and the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya to bring theater to new audiences and contribute to cultural decentralization.
