Carles Gabarró (Barcelona, 1956) began his artistic career in the early 1980s with expressionist influences and gradually developed his own distinctive and recognizable style. His work is intense, created by an artist who works almost like a laborer of painting, with rigor, perseverance, and determination. His paintings reveal a perspective of what is familiar and what is different, of what always remains the same and what constantly changes.
La fragilitat de la pintura a l’època del ‘fast food’ offers a unique journey through the different stages of the artist’s career, structured into four thematic groupings that subtly intertwine: Magma (1995-1996), Biblioteques (2006-2024), Fàbriques (2009-2015), and Llits (2013-2024). Each section combines works from the 1980s with recent pieces, demonstrating his recurring artistic interests over time and showcasing his evolution.
This exhibition will open at the Can Framis Museum on February 3 and will be on view until June 1. Additionally, guided tours are available to provide deeper insight into Carles Gabarró’s work. You can check the dates at this link.
