We bring you a selection of activities and shows that will be taking place in the theatres of the Creative District in the coming days.

Sala Beckett: 

  • Bartleby
    By Herman Melville. Adaptation and direction by Llàtzer Garcia

Llàtzer Garcia returns to the Beckett with an adaptation of the classic Bartleby, the Scrivener by Herman Melville. The emblematic story of a lawyer and his enigmatic scrivener. Bartleby’s “I would prefer not to” has become a paradigm of voluntary renunciation of action—always expressed with the utmost politeness.

Teatre Nacional de Catalunya

An exciting guided tour for the whole family. Join Sham and Mila in the adventure of creating a show from scratch! Discover the hidden corners of the theatre. This activity is adapted for all ages, where the little ones will enjoy different games, while adults can ask questions and satisfy their curiosity.

  • L’aranya
    By Àngel Guimerà. Dramaturgy and direction by Jordi Prat i Coll.

Last days to see, at the Sala Gran, one of Guimerà’s yet-to-be-discovered works. L’aranya portrays the illusions and disappointments, loves and betrayals of a couple unable to conceive a child. A tense and unsettling play where a grocery store becomes the stage for society’s hidden desires and pressures.

After its performances at the TNC, L’aranya will go on tour across Catalonia. El TNC surt de gira is a joint initiative by the TNC and the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya to bring theatre to new audiences and contribute to cultural decentralization.



Casino L’Aliança del Poblenou

Madama Butterfly is one of the most acclaimed and frequently performed operas worldwide. Based on the theatrical drama by David Belasco, its wonderful orchestration, exotic and intensely passionate melodies have made it one of the most tragic yet deeply moving stories of all time.

In this staged version in two acts, the unique features of the Teatre Casino L’Aliança del Poblenou are used to integrate the symphony orchestra into the performance, creating a unique technical production.

Léo Lins, one of the most provocative and irreverent comedians from Brazil, returns to Europe with a new show that promises to challenge limits and provoke laughter with his sharp and controversial humor.

L’Auditori

Stephanie Childress conducts the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya in a program featuring great composers of the 20th century.

The concert program includes: Set cançons populars by Manuel Falla, featuring soprano Alexandra Lowe; Four Sea Interludes by Benjamin Britten; The Lamb by John Taverner; and the highlight of the concert, Stabat Mater by Francis Poulenc.

As part of Ibercamera, the Orquestra Simfònica WDR Colònia, conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, arrives in Barcelona.

The repertoire will include Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony  by Piotr Ilitx Tchaikovsky, preceded by the Egmont Overture by Ludwig van Beethoven and the Cello Concerto by Robert Schumann, performed by the cello prodigy Pablo Ferrández.
