The fragility of painting in the era of ‘fast food’ is part of the work of Carles Gabarró (Barcelona, 1956), who began in the 1980s and has developed continuously over four decades up to the present day. Within his style, material painting stands out, with a unique iconography characterized by the almost obsessive repetition of themes, objects, and compositions.
This exhibition is an invitation to reflect on the role of painting in a time dominated by immediacy. Full of symbolism and iconography, featuring objects such as skulls, libraries, factories, light bulbs… It has been curated by Francesc Puntí and can be seen at the Can Framis museum until June 1st.
