June Program at La Escocesa

La Escocesa, a center for artistic residencies and contemporary art production collectively managed through the artists’ association ‘Associació d’Idees EMA’, has scheduled a series of activities for late May and June:

May 31, 2025, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM:
50th anniversary of the International Day of Sex Workers: The 2J Commission (sex worker artists and allied activists) organizes a gathering with screenings and cabaret featuring burlesque, pole dance shows, and a post-porn performance.

May 31, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM:
Dissociative States in (productive) work with La Metro and Letizia Miro. A joint exploration around the question “Why are creativity and sex problematic when they involve transactions?”, a dialogue between the cultural industry and the sex industry. Tickets here.

May 31, June 7, June 21 (at La Escocesa), July 5 (at Centre d’Arts Santa Mònica) from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM:
AZAR proposes itself as a space for exchange related to artistic, cultural, and academic knowledge of Arab countries. It aims to acknowledge the complexity and cultural richness and to strengthen a trans-Mediterranean bond that deconstructs the orientalist colonial gaze. Coordinated by the collective Darsiná (Sassouki Salma and Maha Ibraheem).
