Poblenou Urban District takes part in the roundtable “Culture and industrial spaces: creative peripheries” of Nodes

Claudia Costa, Co-founder and Creative Director of Poblenou Urban District, will take part in the roundtable discussion on Culture and Industrial Spaces: Creative Peripheries, hosted by Nodes.

How can industrial spaces be reused as cultural and economic engines?

This roundtable will reflect on the impact of repurposing industrial spaces as hubs for cultural and economic revitalisation. It will also address the challenges of this process: the risk of gentrification, the fragility of emerging cultural ecosystems, and the need for bold public policies that ensure a balance between revitalisation, sustainability, and social inclusion.

Joining the roundtable are Francesc Muñoz, PhD in Geography and professor at UAB, expert in urbanism and landscape; and Mireia Mascarell, Acting Head of the Department of Culture at L’Hospitalet City Council. The debate will be moderated by cultural journalist Clara Vera.

Answers to these and many other questions will be explored during our first Nodes roundtable as part of MONDIACULT 2025.

An open discussion to envision how creative peripheries can become future laboratories for our cities.

Tuesday, 30 September, 4:30 p.m. at Llotja de Mar, Barcelona
