Next Thursday, November 27, the Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHub) will host the presentation of the book Antifémina, a new edition promoted by the Barcelona City Council that brings back this joint work by Colita and Maria Aurèlia Capmany. The book, considered a landmark in the history of feminism in Catalonia, stands out for its visual strength and the critical narrative that marked a turning point in the representation of women during the transition.
The event will feature contributions from Francesc Polop, director of the Colita Photography Archive and curator of the exhibition “Colita. Antifémina”; Mary Nash, professor of Contemporary History and a pioneer in the study of women’s history in Spain; Anna Surinyach, journalist and documentary photographer; and Oriol Guiu, head of publishing at Barcelona Llibres.
The presentation takes place within the framework of the exhibition “Colita. Antifémina”, which can be visited at DHub until January 25. The show brings together images and texts that have become iconic and offer visitors the chance to rediscover, firsthand, the transformative vision of Colita and Capmany.
The event will take place on November 27 at 6:30 p.m.; find all the information here.
