Activation of ‘La llengua de les àpsares’ an installation by Anna Dot

Anna Dot presents the installation La llengua de les àpsares at Museu Can Framis as part of Silvia Gubern‘s exhibition Splendour. Return to the origin.

The Mogao Caves, near Dunhang, are home to the feitian, immortal apsaras who dance with long, colorful ribbons, tracing stories in the sky. Their presence resonates today in traditional Chinese ribbon dancing and even in rhythmic gymnastics, but also in the desires of artists such as Silvia Gubern and Joan Miró, who have sought to draw in the air.

In the activation of the work, the artist will share the gestures and languages deciphered from observing the sky and invite participants to write a message to send to the apsaras, moving the colorful ribbons that make up the work presented in the lobby of the Museu Can Framis.
