On the weekend of January 24 and 25, L’Auditori dedicates its programme to family audiences with two unique musical proposals: Pica-So and Toy Box. These performances invite children —and adults too— to discover sound worlds full of play, imagination and emotion.
January 24, 2026, 12 pm · Sala 1 Pau Casals
Toy Box is the family concert by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National Orchestra of Catalonia (OBC), with musical direction by Agata Zając and a colourful stage production by Marta Pazos, who also designed the set and dramaturgy. The show invites audiences to open an imaginary toy box and be carried away into a world full of fantasy, music and play. Inspired by the ballet La boîte à joujoux, which Claude Debussy composed for his daughter, the concert combines melodies by Bizet, Stravinsky and Mompou to create a sound universe where street games, dance and imagination take centre stage.
A concert-performance to enjoy as a family and rediscover the joy of play through music and movement.
January 24 and 25, 2026, various times · Sala 2 Oriol Martorell
Pica-So is a family performance by L’Auditori created in collaboration with the Picasso Museum Barcelona. Designed for children aged two and up, the concert offers a journey through the music that shaped the life of Pablo Picasso.
Guided by the Málaga-born painter, families will explore the flamenco of his native Málaga, the music of modernist Barcelona and the world of the Ballets Russes, featuring compositions by Igor Stravinsky for which Picasso designed stage sets. The journey also includes the cuplé Ojos verdes, popularised on Barcelona’s Paral·lel by Blanquita Suárez —whom Picasso portrayed— as well as French chanson from the artist’s Paris years.
With musical direction by Dani Espasa and stage direction by Enrique Cabrera, founder of the Arcaladanza company, Pica-So is a delicate journey performed by four musicians and a dancer.
