Applications for the BAU Design Research talent Scholarship are open

BAU offers two scholarships of 50% of the total amount of the Master’s Degree in Design Research for the academic course 2026-27. These contributions aim to encourage, reward, and provide opportunities for designers who want to open up to experimentation and research in the field of design.

The application for the BAU Design Research Talent Scholarship consists of two phases:

Phase 1

Evaluation of the prerequisites and requirements for participation in the call:

Prerequisites

Hold a previous official qualification from the disciplines of Design, Fine Arts or Architecture (previous official qualifications in Humanities, Sociology and Anthropology will also be considered, with proof of experience in relation to design and design research through a portfolio).

Requirements

• Average grade of the bachelor’s degree transcript. This documentation must be officially issued by the secretariat of the university where you have studied your bachelor’s degree. Only duly signed and stamped photocopies and documents will be accepted.
• Cover letter.

In the first phase of the call, the scientific committee of the Master’s Degree in Design Research will evaluate all the applications submitted and will select the five candidates who will go on to the second phase.

Phase 2

Evaluation of the five selected applications:

• Portfolio
• Interview with the coordinator of the master’s degree

In the second phase of the call, the scientific committee of the Master’s Degree in Design Research will evaluate the five applications submitted and will select the two successful candidates.

Submission and resolution terms

• Submission of applications: Participation open from February 9th to March 15th, 2026.
• To apply for the scholarship the documentation must be sent to aga@bau.cat, specifying the subject ‘BAU Design Research Talent’

BAU will contact the selected candidates directly in order to proceed to the second phase.
