DESCRIPTION:30 years of transformation of Poblenou with a brush by the artist Neus Martin Royo \nThe realist painter Neus Martín Royo shows the transformation of Poblenou into a great anthology with 130 works distributed in four venues in the neighbourhood. \nPalo Alto Barcelona is one of the venues that will host works from the last thirty years by the artist Neus Martin Royo\, accompanied by historical documentation and photographs that x-ray the transformation of our neighbourhood. \nFor many years the Neus Martín Royo has portrayed Palo Alto\, its interior\, exterior and its life. Now is a unique time to enjoy art\, but also to enjoy our history. \nThe exhibition will occupy two rooms in Palo Alto: Room XYZ\, one of the oldest on the premises\, which will house works on the train\, the sea and the beach\, large-format hybrid paintings with old photographs that show the transformation of the coastline. The Sala Escoleta will feature works on the Palo Alto garden and the Gasometer.

DESCRIPTION:Absències are Father and Camí de silenci\, two dance pieces that can be seen consecutively\, where the common thread is the passage of time\, the loss of a loved one\, the figure of the father and the desire to live. \nFather\, the first piece\, has a lot to do with the premature death of the choreographer’s father\, leaving a generation gap that is impossible to fill. The piece is based on an investigation of textual and choreographic materials that have the father as a reference\, but also the figure of the son and that of the grandfather; in short\, in search of the transcendence of generational roles\, whether they are constructed from absences or presences. Camí de silenci\, the second piece\, was created in 1995\, a few years after the death of his father\, and is presented as it was originally.

V. Beethoven: String Quartet No. 1\, Op. 59 “Razumovsky”\n\n\n\nPERFORMERS\n\n\n\nBelcea Quartet\n\n\nAris Quartett\n\n\n\nPROGRAM\n\n\nThe Three String Quartets\, Op. 59 – named after the Count\, to whom they are dedicated\, Razumovsky –  marked a turning point in the compositional career of L. van Beethoven\, who finally dared to move away from classical conventions. They are technically difficult works\, with contrasts of dynamics and an almost symphonic magnitude of sound. At Razumovsky’s request\, the first Quartet includes a popular Russian theme that characterises the last movement. \nThe “Quartettsatz”\, which is the first movement of a string quartet that Franz Schubert never finished\, has a certain tragic air. It is one of the composer’s last works. \nThe String Quartet No. 14\, Op. 142 is the penultimate quartet that Dmitri Shostakovich composed\, when he was already seriously ill. The cello plays a predominant role. \nIn Officium breve in memoriam Andreae Szervánszky Op. 28\, György Kurtág pays a posthumous tribute to Szervánszky and Anton Webern\, two of his great musical influences. \nIn-side\, the fourth piece from the Brains cycle will also be performed. Misato Mochizuki composed the pieces which are based on research into brain function.
