DESCRIPTION:Exhibition dedicated to the jeweller Enric Majoral. \nBorn in Sabadell in 1949\, Enric Majoral is one of the key names in contemporary Catalan jewellery. The jeweller’s close relationship with Formentera has marked his creations\, which he himself defines as “essence of Formentera”. Mayoral has delved into the world of traditional crafts\, drawing inspiration from archaic forms and using the quintessential jewellery materials\, gold and silver\, full of symbolism and multiple meanings. A member of the FAD\, he was president of Orfebres FAD from 1992 to 1997. DESCRIPTION:Exhibition focusing on wood as a key material at the service of human cultural evolution\, presenting a broad historical overview leading right up to the present day\, with a large section dedicated to current applications of wood (design applied to construction\, cars\, aeronautics\, textiles\, acoustics\, health\, energy and so on)\, that help to support the planet’s sustainability and which serve as a foundation of the circular bioeconomy. \nConsidered from the design perspective\, the exhibition highlights the wooden objects that have represented a turning point in human life from time immemorial to the 21st century. After a period when wood was replaced by other materials in various areas\, the last few decades have seen a recovery and strengthening of design and architecture in wood as a key tool for maintaining quality of life on the planet and halting the current environmental crisis. \nThe exhibition is part of the programme for the annual conference of the European Forest Institute\, which designated Barcelona as European Forest Capital 2022.

DESCRIPTION:DIRECTORY\n\n\n\nJohannes Brahms/Luciano Berio: Clarinet Sonata No. 1 in F minor\, Op. 120 (1894) 24’‎\n\n\n\n\nOlga Neuwirth:\n\n\nMasaot/Clocks without Hands \n\n\n (2013-15) 24′ – National premiere\n\n\n\n\nArnold Schönberg:\n\n\nPelleas und Melisande \n\, Op. 5 (1902-1903; rev. 1920) 41’‎\n\n\n\nPERFORMERS\n\n\n\nBarcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC)‎\n\n\n\n\nAndreas Ottensamer\, clarinet\n\n\n\n\nMatthias Pintscher\, conductor\n\n\n\n\n\nPROGRAM\n\n\nA symphonic poem deeply rooted in Romanticism and end-of-century decadence based on a drama by Maurice Maeterlinck\, Pelleas and Melisande dates back to Arnold Schoenberg’s early period\, together with the Gurre-Lieder cycle (Songs of Gurre) and Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night)\, with which correspondences can be drawn. With an orchestra that contains certain Straussian echoes\, it is almost possible to hear the death rattle of a dying world and another world on the point of exploding. Pelleas and Melisande also reflects the Viennese composer’s creative evolution\, with tonal language whose expressive tension was taken to extremes. Indeed shortly afterwards\, he would embark on “a more complex path”\, as he recalled at the end of his life. \nWith his close familiarity with musical tradition and his tendency toward quotation and paraphrasing\, Luciano Berio transformed the Sonata for Clarinet and Piano in F Minor No. 1\, Op. 120 into the concerto that Johannes Brahms never wrote for this instrument. He did it at a stage–the 1980s–in which transcriptions and reconstructions were common. On this occasion\, Berio took the dense\, meticulous score for piano that enfolds the soloist and created an arrangement for orchestra. \nIn this work dedicated to the Vienna Philharmonic\, which premiered it in 2015\, the well-known Austrian composer Olga Neuwirth reflects on the nature of time and memory in her music. As the title\, Clocks without Hands\, indicates\, memories are prone to fading.

DESCRIPTION:El desig del cor speaks of a dysfunctional family that awaits the return of their daughter from Australia. During this wait\, the most visceral desires\, fears and drives that distance the father\, mother and aunt from what is expected of them\, according to the roles established by society\, materialize in the dining room at home. The family model has clear laws\, and there are things that fit and things that don’t: wanting your daughter\, being afraid of death or eating yourself\, are some of the things that this family can imagine\, because within the imagination fits everything.\nThe characters will have to exercise extreme control so that their thoughts do not take shape and come true\, and both the comic and surreal scenes and the deepest conflicts go through a censorship mechanism. They make mistakes and start over in a trial and error system: they enter an endless loop\, a loop in which words and actions are repeated over and over again. There is no way out of the loop\, because there is no way out of family traumas.\nThis show is part of the cycle La família (or la família?)\, a proposal to reflect on the concept of family from different perspectives: imaginaries\, relationships\, vulnerabilities\, social structures\, the world of work\, the senses\, emotions …

DESCRIPTION:There are bands that have always been part of our history. They accompany us in our lives whether or not we are aware of them and sometimes make up dozens\, hundreds of remnants that could recount many of our lived experiences. The Beatles is\, without a doubt\, one of those groups. \nListening to them live ceased to be possible in 1966\, when they decided to retire from the stage to dedicate themselves to producing a different type of music that the means available at the time would not have allowed them to play live… And this is where Hey Bulldogs come in: made up of five musicians from the world of beat\, rock ‘n roll\, classical and jazz\, the band works with the sole intention of capturing on stage the attitude and nerve of Lennon\, McCartney\, Harrison and Starr without neglecting figures that were fundamental in its history\, such as George Martin or Billy Preston. \nHey Bulldogs commit to a live show idea where every element is produced in service of the uncontested show\, casting the rest into endless choruses of three\, four or five voices\, orchestral arrangements and 60s synths that span unapologetically from the so-called Beatlemania of the early years\, of contagious rock ‘n roll\, going through its transitions from love of details\, to new guitars\, to psychedelia\, and reaching the culminating point of the avant-garde where everything had its place and unfortunately never could. be experienced live. \nThey are not a typical tribute band: here the tribute is music in its purest form that sounds like Beatles and energy on stage\, without addressing the theatricality where one can look for the copy of specific gestures or aesthetics.
