DESCRIPTION:The Can Framis Museum of Contemporary Painting is taking part in this year’s Mercè Festival\, which takes place in Barcelona from 20 to 24 September 2024. \nOn Saturday 21 September from 11 am to 6 pm\, Can Framis is holding an Open Doors day\, allowing visitors to view the permanent painting collection in three thematic sections; Monologue\, Dialogue and Concept.  Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the permanent painting collection and many artists who are essential to understanding and interpreting the Catalan artistic scene; Albert Ràfols Casamada\, Josep Guinovart\, Joan Ponç and Joan Hernández Pijuan\, to name just a few.

DESCRIPTION:Every year the city of Barcelona selects a contemporary artist to design the poster for the festival.  Artists such as Albert Ràfols-Casamada (1981)\, Antoni Clavé (1996)\, Antoni Tàpies (2002) and Francesc Artigau (2011) all produced posters for previous years’ festivals. The Can Framis Museum of Contemporary Painting houses works by many artists who have designed posters for the Mercè festival\, and to mark the occasion a family visit will view some of the pieces in the museum’s collection relating to the festival posters. \nAfter looking at how they were made and the materials used\, the children in the group will design their own Mercè festival posters\, inspired by the artistic techniques they encounter in the museum’s galleries. \n  \nMinimum recommended age: 5 years old. \nThe Foundation reserves the right to cancel the activity if the minimum number of participants (4 children) is not reached. \nReservation required
