The Story of Carmen Polo de Franco and the hunts of the Transition.
A theatrical and documentary portrayal of Carmen Polo —the wife of Francisco Franco— and some “hunts” as seen through the pages of the celebrity magazine ¡Hola!. It’s the perfect excuse to discuss the legacy of fascist morality in this country, and, above all, to talk about hunts: Carmen’s hunts for jewelry, Franco’s hunt for Carmen, the hunts organized by the upper classes, and the far-right’s hunts targeting vulnerable people.
It’s a journey and a very subjective point of view on what could be or might have been.
As part of the Festival Escena Poblenou, we welcome one of the most original and interdisciplinary companies in the current Balearic theater scene: Hermanas Picohueso, from Mallorca.
