DEADLETTER + GENN

Hailing from Yorkshire, but with roots in South London, Deadletter channels the fury of The Fall and the unbalanced rhythms of LCD Soundsystem into a vehement variety of post-punk, exploring the darker side of existence through a lens of lightness driven by their storytelling. The band members have been friends for years, which brings an instinctive understanding of the danceability of their music—something priceless without cheapening the nuances and determination of their sound.

As the prestigious BBC Radio 6 Music host Steve Lamacq said, “The next time someone asks me ‘why don’t young bands write about politics anymore?’ I might as well play them Deadletter.” Incidentally, in 2021, one of their singles was named “Tip of the Week” on BBC Radio 1. In 2022, they released their debut EP, “Heat!” And as they prepare for their first full album, they’ve dropped two new songs in 2023: “The Snitching Hour” and “Degenerate Inanimate.”
