The TNC launches its 2025‑2026 season in September with three major premieres
The Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC) kicks off its 2025–2026 season with three standout productions that highlight contemporary creation and amplify the female voice. Starting on September 24, the Sala Gran will host La mort i la primavera, a visual and choreographic piece by La Veronal based on Mercè Rodoreda’s posthumous novel, which will first premiere at the Venice Biennale. Meanwhile, in the Sala Tallers, audiences can see La filla de l’aire (October 2–19), a production by Raimon Molins that revives the legacy of Catalan ballerina Roseta Mauri.
On October 9, the Sala Petita will premiere Boira, a play by Lluïsa Cunillé directed by Lurdes Barba, reflecting on corruption and memory through an intimate and sharp portrait of three characters. These initial productions embody the season’s central theme: “Reclaiming the narrative”, with a strong emphasis on centering bold, female-driven storytelling.
In total, the TNC will present a season of 32 productions, including 7 in-house creations, reaffirming the success of the previous year, which closed with an 87% audience occupancy rate.
