The Poblenou Festa Major arrives at Casino L’Aliança with a diverse cultural and musical program

Casino l’Aliança is preparing to celebrate its Festa Major with a series of highlighted events combining live music, dance, and tradition from September 7th to 14th.

The activities will kick off on Sunday, September 7th at 6:00 PM with the recital La Bella Napoli, a tribute to Neapolitan song featuring tenor Albert Pros-Deprius, accompanied by the Harmonia Chamber Choir and Orchestra and Laetitia Barbera on mandolin. This show offers a journey through the most iconic melodies of Naples, with pieces like “Parlami d’amore, Mariù” and “Santa Lucia Luntana,” transporting the audience to the beauty and emotion of southern Italy. On Monday, September 8th from 7:00 PM, the Diada Sardanista will take place at the Casino’s Rotonda. The event includes a sardana workshop in collaboration with Som Sardana, followed by a sardana dance with the Cobla Mediterrània. This free activity aims to promote the Catalan tradition of collective dance.

On Thursday, September 11th at 8:00 PM, the Barcelona Municipal Band will perform a free concert, with tickets available at the box office and through the Coordinadora d’Entitats.

The following weekend, Friday, September 12th and Saturday, September 13th at 7:00 PM, L’Aliança will host the 11th edition of the Barcelona Lindy Exchange, a festival dedicated to lindy hop that focuses on live music and social dancing, without competitions. Organized by BCNSwing, this event expects to bring together enthusiasts and professionals from around the world in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.

To close the Festa Major, on Sunday, September 14th at 6:30 PM, attendees can enjoy the Cantada d’Havaneres with the group Port Bo, an emblematic formation founded in 1966 in Calella de Palafrugell and known for keeping alive the tradition of this musical genre.
