The year begins, and with it the activity of the museums in the Creative District continues unabated: take advantage of January to see the best exhibitions in Poblenou, take part in workshops and activities, or follow an art gallery route through the Creative District.

Disseny Hub Barcelona

Screening and round table: ‘Cola, Colita, Colassa’

On January 13 at 6 pm, the DHub hosts the screening of the documentary Cola, Colita, Colassa, directed by Ventura Pons in 2015, which portrays the career and relationships of photographer Colita with iconic figures from the cultural scene (such as Maruja Torres, Rosa Maria Sardà, Teresa Gimpera and Núria Feliu). The screening is followed by a round table moderated by Francesc Polop (director of the Archivo Colita Fotografía), with the participation of Núria Ribó, Anabel Campo Vidal and Vicky Combalía, offering an in-depth exploration of Colita’s figure and legacy.

‘The Value of Water’

Until January 11, the DHub hosts the exhibition The Value of Water, a show that explores traditional ways of obtaining and managing water, featuring objects from the Museu del Disseny collection alongside contemporary pieces that reflect on the responsible use of this essential resource.

Free guided tours of the exhibitions

Every Saturday at 11 am, with admission to the Museu del Disseny-DHub, free “Tastet” guided tours are offered through the museum’s four permanent exhibitions (including “Common Objects. Local Stories, Global Debates”, “Matter Matters. Designing with the World”, “Do You Design or Do You Work? New Visual Communication (1980–2003)” and “The Dressed Body. Silhouettes and Fashion (1550–2015)”).

Presentation of Inmaterial magazine

On January 20 at 6 pm, the DHub presents issue number 20 of Inmaterial magazine, a special volume titled Designing with the World: Towards a New Relationship with Matter. The event, part of the Shared Matter activity cycle linked to the exhibition Matter Matters, features editors Mariona Moncunill, Jorge Luis Marzo and Olga Subirós (curator of the exhibition).

Permanent Exhibition of Contemporary Painting
“A permanently changing collection”.

Temporary Exhibition: Silvia Gubern. Splendour. Returning to the Origin, a show bringing together works by artist Silvia Gubern, on view until February 22, 2026. The exhibition explores the artist’s aesthetic approach and creative process.

Regarding activities, the museum offers guided tours of the Silvia Gubern exhibition on January 24 at midday, aimed at providing deeper insight into the works and their context. On January 25, the workshop Mysteri’Art: a journey of the soul towards essential beauty will also take place, an activity focused on exploring concepts related to aesthetic perception and creative expression.


Sala Barcelona del Museu Terra

“Plastic. Brilliant or Perverse?”
This exhibition, part of the programme of the Sala Barcelona at the Museu Terra, can be visited free of charge during the venue’s opening hours until May 30, 2026. Curated by Núria Vila, the exhibition reflects on plastic, from its history and uses to its environmental and social impacts, through different thematic sections and the participation of contemporary artists via audiovisual works, installations and collection objects.


Piramidón. Centre d’Art Contemporani

Throughout January, visitors have the last opportunity to see the exhibitions Un impulso de último momento by Román Castro and the group exhibition 2025_N4, both closing on January 20.


La Plataforma

Art and Sales: A penas, puñaladas is the exhibition celebrating the 15th anniversary of the gallery’s opening. A group exhibition bringing together a selection of recent works and archival pieces that trace the gallery’s trajectory through the voices of its artists.

Yatreda ያጥሬዳ, Let’s Slow Down Time Together can be visited at the gallery until February 14. Yatreda ያጥሬዳ’s, the ethiopian collective first solo exhibition in Europe presents a concise selection of their video works, connecting memory, oral tradition and identity through a rigorous and poetic visual language.
