La Fundació Carulla and Museu Terra present the exhibition “Plàstic. Genial o Pervers?” at the Foundation’s headquarters in the Poblenou neighborhood of Barcelona. The exhibit invites reflection on the use and abuse of plastic in society and offers a deep analysis of the environmental and social impacts of this omnipresent material.
The exhibition, which can be visited until July 12, 2025, raises questions about the benefits plastic has brought to technological and healthcare development while also highlighting the devastating effects of its misuse on the environment. Through historical and contemporary pieces, the exhibition promotes awareness and encourages a shift toward sustainability, where recycling, innovation, and waste reduction are essential pillars for a cleaner and more responsible future.
Curated by eco-designer Nuria Vila, the exhibit “Plàstic. Genial o Pervers?” is divided into four main sections: The Age of Plastic, The Object, The Persistence, and The Abundance. It includes works ranging from artistic installations and games to audiovisual installations.
Some of the artists featured in the exhibition include Aleksey Kondratyev, Coke Bartrina, Elsa Yranzo, Ester Partegàs, Ida-Marie Corell, Ivana Larrosa, Lucas Hope, Mandy Barker, Nick Pumphrey, Nuria Vale, Octavi Serra, Pepi de Boissieu, Samuel Rodríguez, Sean Lin, Sil van der Woerd, Sílvia Conde, and Sophie Thomas.
