DESCRIPTION:The gallery La Plataforma opens this Friday\, October 7\, the exhibition Block\, by the artist Sasha Sime. A new exhibition that is part of the circuit of galleries\, museums and showrooms AR-DE for the next 14\, 15 and 16 October. \nThe exhibition can be visited until 07/11/2022 \n“The first blocks appeared in 2018 as a contrast to a set of abstract expressionist works he was creating. There were three blank canvases\, waiting to be painted\, but instead of small details\, scratches and flow\, I decided to cut the surface of the canvas into huge\, massive parts: blocks. For me\, blocks are the visual expression of focus. I chose a basic material: ink\, and let it flow – slowly\, stroke by stroke\, pushed by my receptive movement. Focus\, repetition and gravity – three components of the blocks in this exhibition. It was also my first experience with pottery – a thick\, flattened and chopped mud. I took a base from my ink drawings\, and then played with the depth and the material itself\, investigating its physical properties.” – Sasha Sime \n
