DESCRIPTION:Every year the city of Barcelona selects a contemporary artist to design the poster for the festival.  Artists such as Albert Ràfols-Casamada (1981)\, Antoni Clavé (1996)\, Antoni Tàpies (2002) and Francesc Artigau (2011) all produced posters for previous years’ festivals. The Can Framis Museum of Contemporary Painting houses works by many artists who have designed posters for the Mercè festival\, and to mark the occasion a family visit will view some of the pieces in the museum’s collection relating to the festival posters. \nAfter looking at how they were made and the materials used\, the children in the group will design their own Mercè festival posters\, inspired by the artistic techniques they encounter in the museum’s galleries. \n  \nMinimum recommended age: 5 years old. \nThe Foundation reserves the right to cancel the activity if the minimum number of participants (4 children) is not reached. \nReservation required

DESCRIPTION:Stella Rahola Matutes will lead a guided tour of her exhibition L’Habitació de les Desateses (The Room of the Forsaken). The artist values materiality as a substance that is always subject to change\, whether it be through the interaction with its environment\, the dynamic life of its chemical reactions or manipulation by human and non-human beings. In this exhibition\, she explores these ideas by taking as an example the process involved in the transformation of glass and observing how it is worked on in a craft workshop. \n  \nDate: Sunday 18th September\, 12.00 p.m. \n  \nAdmission: standard €10.00\, concessions €6.00. \n  \nThe Fundació Vila Casas reserves the right to cancel the guided tour depending on the attendance (minimum 4 people).
