After a selection process that included over 200 proposals, the jury, composed of the Piramidón, Centre d’Art Contemporani team and the artists Jo Milne and Alícia Vogel (Piramidón resident and winner of the previous edition of the prize alongside Guillermo Mora), has decided to award the prize to Taylor Anton White.
The practice of Taylor A. White (San Diego, California, 1978) explores the tension between chaos and control, combining painting, collage, and object assemblage in large-scale, multilayered works. His compositions blend diverse materials—found objects, textiles, spray, graphite, acrylic—and navigate between figuration and abstraction. The creative process leaves visible traces: erased layers, overlays, and accidents; all of which become part of the work and define its energy. Color, gesture, and materiality create contrast and tension, while White works intuitively and improvisationally, integrating memory, everyday iconography, and formal exploration.
Taylor has exhibited in galleries and international fairs in Los Angeles, Berlin, New York, Miami, Tokyo, and Madrid, establishing himself as an artist who combines painting and object in an open and experimental approach.
