The event marks the beginning of the collaboration between the Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Innovation and Interactive Environments<\/a> at BAU<\/a> and the Creative Coding Barcelona<\/a> collective, starting with this talk-performance by the Chilean sound artist.<\/h3>\n

Monday, October 27 at 6:00 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Master’s in Audiovisual Innovation and Interactive Environments kicks off a new season of BAU Talks<\/a> for the academic year with a talk-performance curated in collaboration with Creative Coding Barcelona: The Heart is an Oscillator<\/em>. In this event, Constanza Pi\u00f1a will present her artistic practice and perform one of her projects live, Coraz\u00f3n de Robota<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Following DIY principles, Coraz\u00f3n de Robota<\/em> is a series of sound artifacts built from low-quality materials, electronic waste, and everyday recycled objects. The sounds produced are used by the artist to explore the rhythmic dimensions of noise. Pi\u00f1a will discuss the development process of her works and the genealogy of her ideas, which approach error and aberration as success rather than failure. Her work explores the \u201corganic\u201d side of technology and aligns with the principles of electronic anarchy.<\/p>\n

About the artist<\/h3>\n

Constanza Pi\u00f1a Pardo<\/strong> (Curic\u00f3, 1984) is a sound artist whose work is based on electronic experimentation, open-source technologies, DIY philosophy, and technofeminist social practices. Since 2010, she has used the pseudonym Coraz\u00f3n de Robota<\/em>, her alter ego connected to the underground music scene in which she participates through her own sonic creations. She is the founder of the technofeminist gathering Cyborgrrrls<\/em> in Mexico City and currently teaches at the Non-Binary Electronics School in Berlin, an educational project she also promotes.<\/p>\n

This BAU Talk also strengthens the collaboration between BAU\u2019s master’s program and the Creative Coding Barcelona collective, which promises many more events aimed at connecting the most brilliant artistic minds in the tech world with audiences in Barcelona.<\/div>\n
