On October 25th and 26th<\/strong>, we invite you to enjoy the 16th edition of the 48H Open House Barcelona architecture festival<\/strong>. Take the weekend to explore some of the buildings that make up the Poblenou Urban District Creative Community:<\/p>\n

Estudi Lumen’s<\/strong><\/a>
Lumen\u2019s studio, located on Passatge de Carlota Mena, preserves the imprint of an industrial past that now coexists with creativity and innovation.<\/p>\n

blit. studio<\/strong><\/a>
Located in a former industrial warehouse on Carrer de Pallars, in the heart of Poblenou, Blit\u2019s showroom transforms a space with a factory past into a creative laboratory of the future. The building, with its large volumes and multiple floors, retains its original industrial spirit while becoming a stage for the most innovative expressions of digital art and immersive technology.<\/p>\n

Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC)<\/strong><\/a>
IAAC is an international center for research, education, production, and dissemination, whose mission is to imagine the future habitat of our society and build it in the present. The Institute creates interdisciplinary knowledge networks (working in collaboration with cities, regions, industrial groups, research centers, and institutions) and is headquartered in Barcelona\u2019s 22@ district, an international benchmark for knowledge-based companies and organizations.
The Poblenou campus is the heart of the Institute \u2014 a former ceramic factory transformed into a factory of ideas and projects. This 2,200 m\u00b2 building blends an experimental and productive approach to architecture and urbanism.<\/p>\n

LCI Barcelona<\/strong><\/a>
The architectural design of the building was carried out by Fernando Ansorena and Iv\u00e1n Serrano from Circular Studio, and the construction has received the BREEAM sustainability certification at the \u201cexcellent\u201d level. The project aimed to create a sustainable campus that fosters interaction between students from different disciplines and serves as LCI Education\u2019s flagship in Europe.
Among its sustainable architectural features are its dry aluminum fa\u00e7ade \u2014 a 100% recyclable and reusable material \u2014 and its metal structure, which is also fully recoverable and recyclable.<\/p>\n

Fundaci\u00f3 Carulla<\/strong><\/a>
With nearly fifty years of history, Fundaci\u00f3 Carulla is dedicated to transforming society through culture and the arts. It promotes cultural and educational projects, including the Llu\u00eds Carulla, Baldiri Reixac, and Francesc Candel Awards, as well as the Mutare space, which connects the cultural sector with social challenges.
One of its key initiatives is the management of the Museu Terra in l\u2019Espluga de Francol\u00ed \u2014 formerly the Museum of Rural Life \u2014 which promotes sustainability from a rural perspective.<\/p>\n

The Foundation\u2019s space is located at Carrer dels Almog\u00e0vers, 214, in a 1962 building designed by architect Jos\u00e9 M. Segarra, who also designed the School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Covering 1,500 square meters across three floors, this space hosts the Foundation\u2019s activities, including a cultural coworking area for transformative projects and an exhibition hall in collaboration with the Museu Terra.
It is also home to Editorial Barcino, a publishing house specializing in Catalan literary classics, celebrating its centenary in 2024.<\/p>\n

The building aims to be a window to the rural world from the city, promoting dialogue on sustainability and connecting rural heritage with urban challenges, with a strong focus on culture, education, and social transformation.<\/p>\n

Betev\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>
Our media partner\u2019s building may not stand out for its architecture, but it does for what happens inside. Here you\u2019ll find TV studios, a radio studio, newsroom, editing rooms, makeup and wardrobe areas, cameras, microphones\u2026 everything needed to create high-quality public service content.<\/p>\n
