Piramid\u00f3n, Centre d\u2019Art Contemporani, will host a new edition of its Vermouth Saturdays this coming Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm, featuring the opening of the solo exhibition by artist Rom\u00e1n de Castro, titled \u201cUn impulso de \u00faltimo momento.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

In \u201cUn impulso de \u00faltimo momento,\u201d<\/em> De Castro establishes a dialogue between Mexico City and Barcelona through the tiles depicted in the interiors of his works. The artist connects Mexican talavera<\/em> and modernist Catalan tiles, two elements separated by thousands of kilometers yet sharing the same origin on the Iberian Peninsula. This relationship, more emotional than mimetic, is accompanied by references to Pedro Almod\u00f3var, whom De Castro cites as a \u201cpictorial\u201d influence for the filmmaker\u2019s use of color to create atmospheres rich in visual intensity.<\/p>\n

Everyday objects take center stage, transformed into witnesses and containers of memory through their forms and the written messages they bear. In contrast, the characters hide their faces and remain anonymous, reinforcing a fragmented and poetic narrative that leaves each scene in suspension and invites viewers to complete the story.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, at 1 pm, Ricard Casals will lead a guided tour of the exhibition, offering deeper insight into the conceptual and formal aspects of Rom\u00e1n de Castro\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

Piramid\u00f3n\u2019s Vermouth Saturdays offer a unique opportunity to explore the work of resident artists while enjoying a vermouth, music, and a warm, inviting atmosphere in a singular setting.<\/p>\n
