Actors and performers with different abilities take to the stage to make difference visible in this dance-theatre piece by Vero Cendoya, with dramaturgy co-created with Israel Sol\u00e0. An exploration of illness, disability, and the right to choose the life we want to live, inspired by Brilliant Imperfection<\/em> by disabled and queer activist Eli Clare.<\/p>\n

The play revolves around the preparation, rehearsal, and delivery of the celebratory speech and the commemorative event marking the death of dictator Franco and the \u201c50 YEARS OF DEMOCRACY\u201d. During the rehearsal of the official ceremony, the King hears all the instructions coming from the control room through an earpiece. The situations unfold as conflicts between the character\u2019s obligations, his incompetence in carrying them out, and his complete lack of desire to do so.<\/p>\n

El Trencanous \u2013 Ballet de Barcelona<\/a><\/strong>

The Ballet de Barcelona<\/a>, under the artistic direction of Chase Johnsey<\/a>, arrives at L\u2019Alian\u00e7a del Poblenou theatre to present its production of this repertory ballet: El Trencanous<\/em>, one of the most distinctive works by renowned Romantic composer P. I. Tchaikovsky (Russia, 1840), now considered a worldwide classic.<\/p>\n

Two journalists publish a series of articles exposing sexual abuse committed by several directors and politicians. These articles became the #MeToo the country needed, triggering a revolution that forced these men to abandon their professional lives and face mass cancellation nationwide. But one Monday they receive key information that casts doubt on their entire career: Ricard Roig, one of the accused, has attempted suicide. With the appearance of the accused man\u2019s daughter, reality asserts itself and cracks begin to appear in the dominant narratives.<\/p>\n
