The recent renovation of Hotel Princess Barcelona<\/a>, an iconic building designed by \u00d2scar Tusquets on Avenida Diagonal, introduces a new spatial interpretation in which light becomes a structuring element of the experience. The architectural project, led by the studio Isern & Associats, features a lighting design developed by Lumen\u2019s<\/a> that accompanies the transformation of the spaces while preserving the building\u2019s iconic identity.<\/p>\n

Lumen\u2019s<\/a> approach is based on a clear premise: using light as a connecting thread between architecture, materiality and use. The lighting proposal reinforces the interior\u2013exterior dialogue established by the architectural project, bringing indoors the chromatic palette that defines the fa\u00e7ade \u2014blue, terracotta and concrete\u2014 and adding depth and nuance to volumes and textures.<\/p>\n

In the welcome areas, such as the lobby and reception, the lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, with controlled intensity levels that facilitate orientation and enhance spatial perception. Lighting accents help to define hierarchies and guide guests from arrival through the common areas, creating a smooth and fluid transition between spaces.<\/p>\n

In the restaurant and bar, the lighting design adapts to different moments of the day, using a more contained and atmospheric light that reinforces the social and experiential character of these areas. In the spa and relaxation zones, the lighting becomes more subtle, prioritizing visual comfort and a sense of calm, while maintaining a clear reading of the architecture.<\/p>\n

The close collaboration between Lumen\u2019s and Isern & Associats has resulted in a cohesive overall lighting concept, in which each space responds to a specific use while maintaining a shared identity. Beyond functionality, light shapes atmosphere, enhances the color palette and contributes to updating the building with sensitivity and respect.<\/p>\n
