{"id":56642,"date":"2026-06-18T14:28:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T12:28:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/poblenouurbandistrict.com\/?p=56642"},"modified":"2026-06-18T14:28:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T12:28:34","slug":"el-museu-can-framis-acull-la-casa-de-la-trobada-amb-laltre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/poblenouurbandistrict.com\/en\/el-museu-can-framis-acull-la-casa-de-la-trobada-amb-laltre\/","title":{"rendered":"The Can Framis Museum hosts The house for the encounter with the other"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The House of Encounter with the Other<\/em>\u00a0is an installation by\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/casadelencuentro.arquitecturasafectivas.com\/\">Arquitecturas Afectivas<\/a><\/strong>, located in the courtyard of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciovilacasas.com\/ca\/museu\/museu-can-framis-barcelona\">Can Framis Museum<\/a> to coincide with<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelona.cat\/capitalmundialarquitectura\/en\">\u00a0Barcelona\u2019s designation as World Capital of Architecture<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and as a side event to the\u00a0<strong>2026 UIA World Congress of Architecture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The structure is built from sacks of fertile soil and native Mediterranean plants, and comprises 18 circular, walk-through rooms through which a question is posed: how can architecture facilitate encounters between bodies, cultures, species and narratives?<\/p>\n<p>For two weeks, The House of Encounter with the Other will host unique encounters between artists, thinkers and the public to reflect on connections, gestures and new ways of relating to one another.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciovilacasas.com\/en\/a\/the-house-of-encounter-with-the-other---la-ribot-and-jone-san-martin\">La Ribot and Jone San Mart\u00edn<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0will open the house through the body, transforming the rooms into micro-stages. The Mexican filmmaker, writer and activist\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciovilacasas.com\/en\/a\/the-house-of-encounter-with-the-other---diego-enrique-osorno\">Diego E. Osorno<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0will introduce the narrative and ethical dimensions of the encounter, inviting us to reflect on visible and invisible boundaries.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciovilacasas.com\/en\/a\/the-house-of-encounter-with-the-other-with-payzee-mahmod\">Payzee Mahmood<\/a><\/strong>, with her work on identity, diaspora, belonging and loss, will activate the house as a space for emotional healing and deep listening.<\/p>\n<p>Arquitecturas Afectivas is organising the first and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundaciovilacasas.com\/en\/a\/the-house-of-encounter-with-the-other-with-arquitecturas-afectivas\">final encounters<\/a><\/strong>, designed to experience the house not as a space to be visited, but as a space to inhabit and to encounter oneself and others.<\/p>\n<p>Programme schedule:<br \/>\nOpening:\u00a0<strong>Monday 22 June, 8 pm<\/strong><br \/>\nPayzee Mahmood:\u00a0<strong>Thursday 25 June, 8 pm<\/strong><br \/>\nLa Ribot &amp; Jone San Mart\u00edn:\u00a0<strong>Monday 29 June, 8 pm<\/strong><br \/>\nDiego E.
