HYPNOTIC BRASS ENSEMBLE is a project made up of the seven children of the great Phil Cohran, founder of \u201cSun Ra Arkestra\u201d and \u201cEarth, Wind & Fire\u201d. It is obvious to indicate who has been his greatest influence. Added to this almost connatural artistic background are his own experiences and concerns, ranging from the sound of the New Orleans big-bands, through funk, Afrobeat, and some of the aggressiveness of hip-hop in his rhythm section.
