Sala Beckett celebrates 10 years in Poblenou with a big street party

Sala Beckett will turn Pere IV street into a large open-air stage next Friday, June 5th, to celebrate ten years since its arrival in Poblenou. The theatrical venue will commemorate a decade in the former Pau i Justícia Cooperative with a festive day open to everyone, combining culture, music, gastronomy, and reflection on the city.

The celebration will kick off at 12:00 PM with the presentation of the 2026/27 season—one of the central moments of the day—where artists and creators will preview Beckett’s new projects. From then on, the street will transform into a cultural meeting point with activities running all day long.

A musical vermouth with Ultra-Local Records will give way to a community paella for neighbors and attendees, while Beckett’s Obrador (workshop) will take to the streets with dramatized readings of short texts in an open mic format. The program will also include a debate on the cultural future of Barcelona, moderated by Alba Riera, featuring prominent voices from the sector such as playwright Berta Prieto and representatives from the Grec Festival and the Generalitat.

The celebration will also feature a space for families, with a traditional hot chocolate gathering and a children’s concert, before heading into the final stretch with poetry and live music. Poet Josep Pedrals will present his show “Bé que et va,” and the night will wrap up with concerts by La Pum Pim Pam and Les Modernes del Raval, followed by a party-DJ session.

With this big community festival, Sala Beckett aims to reclaim the bond built with Poblenou over these ten years and celebrate the neighborhood’s role as a cultural and creative engine for Barcelona.
