Time as a Spiral: Load Gallery Presents Rituals of Time

Next Thursday, September 16, Load Gallery opens Rituals of Time, a group exhibition bringing together nine African artists whose works explore notions of time and duration, alongside memory, nostalgia, and longing.

The exhibition approaches time not as a linear phenomenon, but rather as a movement of spirals and returns, following a rhythm shaped by birth, death, and renewal that reverberates through bodies and spirits.

The works thus emerge as a fluid and generative force, reimagining and reinterpreting the world beyond temporal limitations. Time folds into cycles, moving according to its own durations and challenging the Western notion of time as a continuous progression, as well as the idea of memory as a mechanism of linear preservation.

Participating artists: Michael Aboya, Àsìkò, John Baloy, Alexis Chivir-ter Tsegba, Delphine Diallo, Nana Frimpong Oduro, Osinachi, Melissa Simon-Hartman, and Abdulrahman Adesola Yusuf.
