From 14 to 25 October, the Barcelona Design Week 2026 once again turns Barcelona into a meeting point for design, creativity and innovation. Under the motto PRO-TEST, this edition champions experimentation and questioning as drivers of transformation and new ideas. In this context, The Social Hub Barcelona, LCI Barcelona and Simon join the programme with proposals ranging from installations and exhibitions to participatory experiences and talks, exploring how design transforms spaces, fosters connections and opens up new perspectives on the world around us.
As the official hotel of Barcelona Design Week 2026, The Social Hub Barcelona will host Design Installation from 14 to 25 October, an interactive installation that invites visitors to reflect on how unexpected encounters can generate connections and new perspectives.
The programme includes WMF Gilda Lab: el bocado perfecto on 16 October, a participatory experience centred on preparing and tasting gildas. On 21 October, PROCÉS, the first editorial project by LATENT, designed by Bakoom, will also be presented, focusing on creative processes. In addition, from 21 to 23 October, the venue will host a screening and post-screening discussion of the second season of #GeneraciónIA: Liderando el cambio, impulsando el mañana, the documentary series by NTT DATA and journalist Xantal Llavina exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on areas such as sustainability, inclusion, the economy and learning.
Following the PRO-TEST motto, LCI Barcelona presents four proposals that highlight experimentation and design’s ability to challenge established models. On 22 October, NEW: Sustainable Visions will showcase fashion collections by third-year students, developed through material reuse, zero waste processes, bioplastics and experimental textiles.
From 22 to 24 October, MIRA’M, a temporary installation created by third-year Interior Design students, proposes a meeting space that fosters recognition and connection between neighbourhood communities. The programme will continue on 23 October with an exhibition of typographic posters created by fourth-year students and alumni of the Graphic Design programme. The exhibition explores hands-on experimentation and the role of people in design in the face of automation and artificial intelligence. On the same day, the Masterclass: La mida de les lletres, in collaboration with TypeTogether, will examine how typography influences readability, the reading experience and visual perception.
From La Casa de la Llum, Simon’s experimental venue in Poblenou, the company explores light as an element capable of transforming spaces and contributing to well-being. From 14 to 25 October, the venue will host Lighting Up the World with Porcelain, an exhibition by Lladró that combines porcelain craftsmanship with contemporary lighting, featuring pieces such as Cascade by Lee Broom. In addition, on 15 October at 6 pm, the roundtable El Benestar de la Llum will take place. Also organised in collaboration with Lladró, it will bring together design and architecture professionals to reflect on light as a tool for well-being.
Finally, on 22 October, from 6 to 7 pm, Talk Underground: PRO-TEST en directe will bring a conversation on experimentation, prototyping and learning through trial and error to La Casa de la Llum, as part of Barcelona Design Week.
