Chestnuts and spooky fun return this Saturday, 31 October, with a host of activities to enjoy La Castanyada and Halloween. From themed parties, shows and immersive experiences to delicious new treats.
We’ve put together a selection of plans to enjoy with family or friends and celebrate this special occasion in a unique way.
Casino L’Aliança is hosting the Gran Social de Halloween at the Sala Gran del Teatre del Casino L’Aliança del Poblenou, a party for dance lovers featuring the best salsa, Cuban timba, bachata and son rhythms, with DJ PAPI behind the decks.
The night will kick off at 10:30 pm with a mysterious dance workshop, followed at 11 pm by a salsa and bachata session featuring performances by La Casa del Son. At 1:30 am, there will be a costume competition with prizes, and from 2 am onwards, the party will wrap up with a Retro Hits session and commercial Latin music.
CHIMÚ, on the rooftop of Labtwentytwo Barcelona, is hosting a tardeo with a distinctive aesthetic: YOKAI Halloween Tardeo. Inspired by Japanese folklore, the event will combine electronic music, live performances and artistic makeup. LYNNA will provide the soundtrack with Afro House, Indie Dance and melodic electronic music, while Tuiana Sax will perform live saxophone. The event will run from 7 pm to midnight, with limited capacity.
But that’s not all… The Hoxton Poblenou is bringing a surreal twist to the weekend with Le Bal Surréaliste, inspired by the ball hosted by the Rothschilds in 1972 at the Château de Ferrières, just outside Paris. The celebration will take place at Four Corners, featuring cocktail-style dining, an open bar serving beer, wine and soft drinks, and DJ sets by Soffmm and Juguete. The dress code invites guests to combine elegance with surrealist elements: “elegant from the neck down, surrealist from the neck up.” The event will start at 8 pm and run until 1 am.
Another option is the Horror Week at WOLF Barcelona, featuring three nights of parties and an afternoon event. On Thursday, 29 October, there will be an individual costume competition, followed by a group competition on Friday, 30 October. On Saturday, 31 October, the programme includes the ZORREO Tardeo +25, from 6 pm to 11:30 pm, and a late-night party from 12:30 am to 7 am. Night-time sessions will feature costume competitions, with prizes for the best outfits!
For a different way to celebrate Halloween, ALFA5 XR SPORTS has prepared a special promotion to enjoy its technology-driven and virtual reality experiences. It’s an opportunity to dive into immersive adventures and share a fun activity with friends or family.
Little ones also have a date at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC) with Gota, a family magic show scheduled for Saturday, 31 October. To mark La Castanyada, chestnuts will be offered during this performance. Don’t miss out, book your tickets!
At Novotel Barcelona City, Saturday afternoon will feature a Halloween-themed face-painting activity from 6 pm to 8 pm. In addition, members of the ALL loyalty programme who book dinner at the hotel will be able to enjoy a special offer: a “scary sangria.”
And if you want to start the day full of energy, Stamina has an activity in store for sports enthusiasts. On Saturday, 31 October, at 9 am, the Stamina Run Loop will take place, with 5 km and 10 km routes. At 10:30 am, the programme will continue with a StaminaTalks session led by Gabriela from Eat by Hand, focusing on sports nutrition.
Finally, Zanah Pasteles is also getting into the Halloween spirit with monstrous cakes and spooky sweet treats available on Friday afternoon, perfect for adding a fun and deliciously frightening touch to the celebrations.
Day of the Dead
The Day of the Dead is an occasion to remember and honour those who are no longer with us. To celebrate this tradition, Sísí Rooftop invites you to enjoy a special event on 31 October, from 6 pm to midnight, featuring food, drinks and a menu created especially for the occasion.
Meanwhile, La Taquería joins the celebration with a Tamaliza, the perfect opportunity to savour some delicious tamales. Make the most of this weekend and enjoy this delicious Mexican tradition!
