How is the universe of an animated film created? Cécile Guillard, art director of Iron Boy (Le Corset), will share the secrets of her creative process in a masterclass at the LCI Barcelona campus on Friday, 6 November at 5 pm, as part of El Meu Primer Festival 2026, in collaboration with the festival.
Directed by Louis Clichy, the film received the Jury’s Special Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, as well as the Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
Organised by LCI Barcelona’s Animation department, the session will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how a film’s visual identity is developed, from the first ideas to the final result. Guillard will discuss aesthetic choices, visual references, teamwork and the different stages of the creative process that shape a film’s universe.
The masterclass is an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into professional art direction in animation, discover how a project of this kind takes shape and ask questions to an industry professional.
Take this opportunity to explore the creative process behind animated films and discover how ideas are transformed into images that bring unique worlds to life.
The session will be held in French, with simultaneous translation into Spanish.
