El desig del cor speaks of a dysfunctional family that awaits the return of their daughter from Australia. During this wait, the most visceral desires, fears and drives that distance the father, mother and aunt from what is expected of them, according to the roles established by society, materialize in the dining room at home. The family model has clear laws, and there are things that fit and things that don’t: wanting your daughter, being afraid of death or eating yourself, are some of the things that this family can imagine, because within the imagination fits everything.
The characters will have to exercise extreme control so that their thoughts do not take shape and come true, and both the comic and surreal scenes and the deepest conflicts go through a censorship mechanism. They make mistakes and start over in a trial and error system: they enter an endless loop, a loop in which words and actions are repeated over and over again. There is no way out of the loop, because there is no way out of family traumas.
