CENTRINNO, the motor of sustainable transformation, arrives in Barcelona

CENTRINNO arrived this week in Barcelona where the second consortium meeting of the project took place since its inception in February 2021.

CENTRINNO is a four-year research project focusing on historic industrial sites undergoing transformation. It will show the potential of these historic areas to be part of a new industrial revolution that puts citizens at the center of a sustainable transformation.

From May 17 to 19, between workshops, recreational activities, tours and talks, participants had the opportunity to make progress on their projects as well as reaffirm the values and general objectives of CENTRINNO. An opportunity to reflect on the challenges, achievements and key elements that have confronted each project throughout the year.

In one of the tours, Indissoluble, Corpen Gin and La Escocesa opened their doors to the participants to present their space and their project.

Based on a consortium of specialized organizations, CENTRINNO has 26 members located in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Blönduós, Copenhagen, Geneva, Milan, Paris, Tallinn and Zagreb.

On Wednesday May 18 from 4pm to 7pm at IAAC (Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia), Poblenou Urban District organized the Urban Talks, a series of itinerant talks that aim to open a debate with citizens on culture and creativity regarding the urban environment.

The objective? To discuss art, heritage, economy, technology and sustainability with professionals who have stood out for their activity in these fields and who will provide us with their unique and optimistic vision of the future of cities.

This year, 3 talks were proposed under the theme “Keys to Urban Transformation”:

TALK #1: From the Hub to the City: A Scale for Urban Transformation.
