Discover the entire program of Off Llum BCN 2022

From February 4 to 6, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., Off Llum BCN returns, with a circuit of small and medium-sized light installations designed and produced by Poblenou Urban District.

An alternative route to the Llum BCN Light Arts Festival that seeks to focus on experimental light art and local proposals from the creation and innovation spaces that make up the Creative District community.

This year, the Off Llum BCN circuit proposes seven unique installations that can be seen and enjoyed in seven spaces in the Poblenou Urban District community: Go-PopUp, ProtoPixel, La Plataforma, Valkiria, BAU, Chez Xefo and ConnectHort. Each of these spaces will open its doors to the public and present us with their light work.

#1 Go-PopUp

BeatMe Lab presents OracLED

OracLED is a multidisciplinary project that combines video mapping and pixel mapping to recreate a dreamlike landscape in the center of which a light oracle stands out. The building in the background comes to life through a gigantic projection while a corridor formed by lateral LED spotlights is illuminated sequentially following the motifs of kaleidoscopic shapes. The world of dreams is thus represented by means of light, creating an enigmatic atmosphere that, together with the musical induction, generates a hypnotic and attractive sensation in the viewer.

The installation seeks to raise awareness of the importance of closing the production cycle, also called a circular economy, where what is produced must be part of a life cycle and, therefore, not pollute. Reuse, Recycle, Respect, Reduce, are keywords in this context.

NO QUEDA TINTE (Marina Salazar) presents El Éxtasis de Santa Maria

Night and day. Good and evil. The right and the wrong. The sacred and the forbidden. In this divine ritual, we put the candles aside and begin the ceremony by turning on neon lights to reveal this festive erotic piece, which seeks to surprise the viewer with the revelation and interaction that its aura projects. And it is that in the end, everything we know about our light, our darkness has taught us.

Day: February 4, 5

Hours: Friday and Saturday 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Location: Pujades 99

Host: La Plataforma, No Queda Tinte

#4 Valkiria

Framemov presents Lazer Pupil

Lazer Pupil is an interactive installation of light and audio in which each viewer will have the opportunity to project their light footprint.

Through an interactive totem, the viewer can choose between different preselected animated gifs creating their own design. These images are projected onto a photoluminescent canvas that retains the light for a few moments, thus creating different ephemeral patterns.

Maurici Ginés presents Nuestro Mar Vibra

Nuestro Mar Vibra are memories of light from Barcelona. It is inspired by the trail of reflections that the sun produces in the water when it appears in the Mediterranean Sea, so that the work evokes a fragmented view of the sunrise, its reflections in a sea of its own. The movement of the viewer and the movement of light in the piece create subtle perspective effects generating a personal relationship with the work.

Biomateriality & Biosonification Collective, NAB3 Collective, Irradia Collective present JARDÍ SIDERAL

We will enter the urban agroforestry garden of ConnectHort. A circuit of installations that will invite the encounter to link with other forms of life: non-human animals, plants, fungi and bacteria through electrical, light and sound stimuli. Inspired by the systemic ties of ecology, the proposal brings together various groups to weave new stories of coexistence and reflect on technologies that mediate between humans and nature.
