Open Call: Piramidón Launches the Third Edition of the Jordi Fulla Award

Piramidón, Centre d’Art Contemporani has officially opened applications for the third edition of the Jordi Fulla Award. This annual open call invites contemporary visual artists from around the world to develop their practice during a dedicated residency in the heart of Barcelona’s vibrant art community.

In a significant update for this year’s edition, Piramidón has expanded its support package. For the first time, the selected artist will receive a dedicated artist fee in addition to a comprehensive production budget, marking a renewed commitment to supporting contemporary creators.

The Residency Experience

The award provides a two-month residency designed to facilitate artistic development, deep research, and new production. Beyond studio space and financial backing, the program is structured to foster meaningful exchanges, connecting the resident creator with both the local Catalan art scene and the broader international network centered in Barcelona.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

The open call is international and welcomes creators of any nationality. To ensure a high standard of contemporary practice, applicants must meet the following professional criteria:

  • Solo Exhibition: Must have held at least one solo exhibition in a commercial gallery or art institution within the last three years.

  • Art Fair Presence: Must have participated in at least one national or international art fair.

Interested artists are required to submit their application as a single PDF document (maximum of 15 pages) to info@piramidon.com. The submission must include:

  • A current curriculum vitae (CV).

  • A portfolio featuring recent or relevant artwork.

  • A brief project proposal outlining the research or production intended for the two-month residency.
