The DHub opens “How to Design a Revolution: The Chilean Path to Design”

The DHub presents the exhibition “How to Design a Revolution: The Chilean Path to Design”, which highlights the role that graphic and industrial design played in Salvador Allende’s Chile (1970-1973) in building a fairer society. An exceptional case in history where, through voting, the socialist revolution was chosen, and Chile positioned itself at the global forefront, not only politically but also creatively. It will be open from July 2 to November 16, 2025.

The exhibition will showcase over 250 original pieces and reproductions of designs aimed at democratizing reading and music, reducing technological dependency, and overcoming child malnutrition, among others. It features the first complete and functional reconstruction of the Cybersyn operations room, a project designed for network communication within the country’s industries for a participatory administration of its production.

The opening of this exhibition, curated by Hugo Palmarola, Eden Medina, and Pedro Ignacio Alonso, will be on Tuesday, July 1. At 6:00 PM, there will be an inaugural conference by the curators, and at 7:00 PM, the works will be open for viewing.
