Onair Barcelona presents its End-of-Course Show: June 20th and 21st at Mercat de les Flors.
They say there are parks that grow with the rain, others with the sun… but there is one that grows with souls.
More than three hundred years ago, a great musician named Joost van den Vondel lived in this place. He loved the park so much that he played for it every day, convinced that the earth was alive. Nobody believed him… until one day he disappeared.
The neighbors swore they saw the ground move, as if it were breathing, like a sleeping giant. And in the center of the park a statue of the musician appeared, as if the earth itself had claimed him forever.
Since then, that place was called Vondelpark. And with it, a legend was born.
It is said that, beneath its roots, there is something breathing very slowly… so slowly that years can pass before it needs strength to continue existing again. That is why, every now and then, the park wakes up.
First comes the mist. Then, the crows.
And then the park chooses. Always those who truly love. Those who would give everything for others.
And the park breathes again… for another twenty years.
But it is also said that, if someone manages to return the last note to the musician, the park might return what it took.
So, if you ever visit Vondelpark… Be careful.
Maybe it is waiting.
Maybe… it is looking for its next soul.
Welcome to Vondelpark
