LaCultivadora, the educational project driven by the six national performing arts and music facilities of Catalunya, closes its third year of trajectory, consolidating itself as the leading platform for bringing live arts closer to educational centers in Catalunya.
The program, promoted by L’Auditori, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Mercat de les Flors, the Palau de la Música Catalana, the Teatre Lliure, and the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, closes the 2025-26 academic year with nearly 175,000 participants from more than 1,600 Catalan centers and reaches 4,300 bookings on its platform.
As a novelty for the upcoming school year, laCultivadora will expand teacher training to different parts of the Catalan territory and will launch a pilot program to offer cultural stays in Barcelona for educational centers in areas furthest from the Catalan capital.
Among these training programs, a long-term course for teachers was premiered last year under the name Públics creatius: a proposal in which teachers have been able to enjoy six shows from the general programming of the six venues, along with a 50-hour training dedicated to live arts that will conclude this coming June 26 at the Palau de la Música Catalana (Petit Palau), with the creation of a participatory show starring themselves, L’Hidroavió. Públics creatius will be repeated next season and will be led by Jordi Oriol and Carles Pedragosa.
This Thursday, June 25, the registration process for schools for the new academic year began on the laCultivadora website, featuring an offer of 149 activities and 408 free digital resources for teachers, artists, and students.
Beyond the activity offering, and from the firm belief that access to culture should not depend on the location of each educational center, for the 2026-2027 school year, laCultivadora is taking a new step to make it possible for students and teachers across the country to participate in its proposals.
Furthermore, laCultivadora will continue to expand its teacher training throughout the territory. After these sessions reached Tremp, Lleida, Tarragona, Calafell, Girona, Berga, and Tortosa last year, during the 2026-27 season they will extend to all 11 territorial educational services of Catalunya, incorporating new areas such as Vallès Oriental, Vallès Occidental, Maresme, and Baix Llobregat, offering more than 15 training programs.
Through laCultivadora, the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya offers 47 school-hours performances of 13 shows, with titles such as Gota and Tenet for primary education, and L’Hostal de les tres Camèlies and Ràbia for secondary education. To enrich the experience of attending these shows, the TNC offers educational guides, post-performance activities, Un dia al TNC, and also itineraries in collaboration with the other facilities of laCultivadora.
During the season, the TNC provides various workshops to work on scenic elements such as light, voice, sound, and wardrobe, as well as guided tours that allow participants to discover the variety of professions and vocations that come together in a theatre like the TNC.
In addition, it promotes long-term projects such as Teatre i Acció, to enjoy a creative experience. As for teachers, it maintains three training days and the summer course, spaces to enjoy theatre while acquiring resources applicable in the classroom.
L’Auditori offers through laCultivadora a total of 20 activities, 170 sessions, including 12 concerts: the premiere of Xopluc, the renewal of Out of the [Cage] vol.2, itinerary Out of the [Cage] vol.2, the 10th anniversary of Pica-so, Els colors del metall, Toy Box, itinerary Toy Box, Monstres, Bandàstic, Händel&Friends, Mamemi… Mozart!, Tutti fan piu, itinerary La ràbia in collaboration with the TNC, and itinerary Gènesi in collaboration with the Teatre Lliure. In addition, L’Auditori offers 3 participatory projects for primary and secondary students: Cantània Gaudir Gaudí, Els compositors entren a l’aula, and Hip-hop a secundària. We also offer a training session for nursery school educators and kindergarten teachers for the concert aimed at the youngest children: the training session for Xopluc where tools and resources will be provided to work on the concerts in the classroom. Finally, L’Auditori promotes the training program Públics creatius, a training proposal addressed to teachers that includes both a spectator school component and a creation laboratory component, for which L’Auditori will host the showcase in June.
