Sorry, this entry is only available in Català and Castellano.
If the month of December represents for many of us a special time where you get to share moments with your family and friends, it is also a good time to show solidarity towards people in a situation of vulnerability. The community of Poblenou Urban District is taking part, this year, in various initiatives in order to help and support diverse causes. Below we will present you those initiatives and how you can be part of them.
Fundació Ared participates, once again this year, in the solidarity event Giving Tuesday, a global movement that encourages solidarity and multiplies good deeds. Their objective is to dedicate a whole day to celebrating the action of Giving and this year’s event was celebrated on the 30th of November 2021.
For the occasion, Fundació Ared set itself the challenge to transform the life of women who know the reality of social exclusion. Indeed, in this last year, the necessities and number of people in poverty situations and social exclusion has increased due to the deep impact of Covid-19. In Fundació Ared, they saw the transformation and intensification of those social necessities closely, translated in an increased number of people that were cared for, and a reduction of their possibility of insertion. The pandemic has hit hard, and still does, in highly vulnerable collectives, especially women and people older than 60 years old, increasing the poverty threshold for these collectives. For that reason, and with the objective to not leave anyone behind, for this Giving Tuesday, Fundació Ared is looking to guarantee a decent work for two women in situations of high vulnerability, during the Christmas season.
With the objective to raise 4.650€, one can support the cause until the 28th of December by making a donation on the website of the foundation Mi grano de arena. With your collaboration, they will create a new opportunity of life for two highly vulnerable women, facilitating their way towards their own autonomy and personal freedom.
Fundació Ared works in order to achieve social and professional integration for people in situations of social exclusion, mostly women coming from prison facilities and social services. Their objective is to promote the access to full citizenship, through processes of training and integral accompaniment to help their incorporation to the labor market.

BAU Centre Universitari de Disseny has participated in the initiative of EMOCIONART, a solidarity action that wants to draw attention to the situation of inequality towards women and organized by 22@NETWORK BCN and adg-fad.
The initiative took place on the 2nd of December in Universitat Pompeu Fabra and consisted in the creation of six creative murals and under the artistic direction of P.A.R. studio. The murals are inspired by six experiences and painted with eighth colors that represent, each one of them, different emotions. From these murals, six virtual postcards were created which you can buy at a solidarity price of 3€. All of the raised money will then go to associated foundations of 22@NETWORK BCN, one of them being Fundació Ared.

L’Auditori also joins forces and participates in the 30th edition of La Marató de TV3 and Cataluña Radio on the 19th of December. For the occasion, they’ll join the celebration with three concerts of the OBC and Banda and the preview of the documentary Música, la medicina del alma by Ferran Llagostera. The public will be able to make donations through the different donation points in the building and all of the raised money will then go to the investigation on mental health.
The Marató de TV3 is a charity telemarathon that takes place every Sunday before Christmas. The event is broadcasted on TV3 and has managed to raise almost 190 million euros in medical research to date. This edition will be the third time that La Marató will be dedicated to mental health.
