On Thursday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m., Fundació Carulla will inaugurate Amb llum pròpia, a large-scale photographic installation displayed on the façade of its headquarters at Carrer dels Almogàvers, 214. The event is open to everyone.
The exhibition features thirteen portraits of residents from Poblenou, captured by photographer Gustavo Germano. Each image was taken in a location with personal significance to the subject, forming a collective narrative that reflects the neighborhood’s identity and stories related to unwanted loneliness.
Amb llum pròpia is part of the cultural mediation program Gent del Barri, promoted by Fundació Carulla in collaboration with the Poblenou Neighbors Association. The initiative aims to strengthen social cohesion in the neighborhood through culture and community engagement.
The installation features photography and production by Gustavo Germano, design by Vanina de Monte, and active support from the local community. Germano, a photographer with a career that began in 1986 in Argentina, has lived in Barcelona since 2001 and specializes in projects focused on social and civic memory.
