Art Galleries, Museums, Creation Centers and Artist Studios for Poblenou Open Night

For this eight edition of Open Night 2021, we’re counting on the participation of many of our partners. Among them, Art Galleries, Museums, Showrooms, Creation Centers and Artist’s Studios, are giving us the opportunity to visit their space and take part in their programming specifically made for the night. The participating spaces are the following:

Disseny Hub Barcelona, the space of reference for design and creative industries of Barcelona, has to be your first stop when starting your Poblenou Open Night route. For the occasion, they will open their doors at 6pm and offer a 50% discount on the exhibition “BANKSY: The Art of Protest”. This exhibition will immerse you in the controversial universe of one of the most influential artists of recent years through different themes, including a selection of unique pieces made with various artistic techniques.

El Museu del Disseny de Barcelona is the museum of Arts of the Objects and Design, as a product of the integration of of the collections from the Museum of Decorative Arts (decorative arts and industrial design), the Museum of Ceramics (ceramics), the Museum of Textiles and Attire (textiles and attires) and the Office of Graphic Arts (graphic arts) of the city.  It is the perfect place to visit exhibitions about design, fashion, graphic and decorative arts. During Open Night 2021, you’ll get to have free access to their current exhibitions.

La Plataforma, contemporary art gallery and creative production studio celebrates the eighth edition of Poblenou Open Night with a program full of surprises. As part of the exhibition “Talismans and Cardboards”, artist Blanca Haddad, will present a recital of her last poetic works. You’ll get to know the different artists represented by the gallery and enjoy music sessions from their resident DJs. All of that in the company of the best cocktails.

Piramidón. Centro de arte contemporáneo, a hybrid space between a creation factory and an art gallery, invites you to the inauguration of pop-up exhibition from artists Lucas Estévez and Ramiro Peón-Veiga, who will give you the opportunity to visit their respective workshops. 

Piramidón is a space created in 1990 with the will to provide the necessary infrastructure for the development of artists. Since its creation, they have been supporting artists struggling with the instability of the market of art and difficulties to find an appropriate space for their necessities.

Chez Xefo is an art gallery with an extreme polyvalence. There, you’ll find exhibitions of painting, sculpture, installations, photography, cinema, video art and arts associated with new technologies. As part of science-fiction cinema season broadcasted by Chez Xefo, the 1958’s movie “The Fly” by director Kurt Neumann, with David Hedison, Patricia Owens, Vincent Price and Herbert Marshall, will be projected in the gallery for this special day. A classical horror film in which an alienated scientist starts suffering mutations after an experimentation that went wrong.

The Folio Club will do an exhibition and selling of illustrated posters of Javier Aznarez for the new movie “The French Dispatch” by Wes Anderson. Moreover, you’ll get to watch a video clip and shorts illustrated by the artist. The artist will be present.
The Folio Club is a print shop for all the public, equipped with the latest technology. They are an experienced and competent team capable of solving all types of needs in an easy, efficient and efficient way.

Stay Hungry Stay Foolish, Barcelona based studio focused on creativity with seven years of experience developing projects, will give you the opportunity to take part in their hybrid Masterclass (presential and online) “Life and Creativity”. A hyperactive talk about our creative nature and how to fuel it, given by Lucas Daglio, founder of Stay Hungry Stay Foolish. He’ll share with us the key and tools to having a more creative and filled with incentive life, using practical exercises.

Carmina Wiegerinck offers the unique opportunity to get to know her studio. The brazilian-dutch-catalan sculptor, based in Barcelona for more than 30 years, opens the doors of her workshop for Poblenou Open Night where you’ll have the chance to enjoy her art and know the artist herself.

Rosapalo Bcn by Valls Fortuny, is a creation space that will open its doors for Poblenou Open Night and where you’ll get to visit the pictorial exhibition “Dual: Abstracció dinàmica: Vida i Moviment” from artist Inés Valls Fortuny and “Els Guspirus tornenn al Poblenou” from Vanessa Linares.

Unusual concept Store and Gallery invites you to the inauguration of their new extended space in a precious space of 500m2 designed by Arquitectura G, with a cup of Cava in your hand. Don’t miss out on the original collection of objects designed by local and international designers, artists and artisans in this concept store of Poblenou.

Codigo Sound and Light Project It is a lighting and sound studio that presents a range of new state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology products. All set with a DJ program with a luxury Line up. Here are the schedules and artists that can be seen in its space:

Rosa del Foc: Para el Poblenou Open Night 2021, Carles de Corral nos invita a visitar su instagram físico. Donde nacen obras de pequeño formato y se forjan ideas de gran formato, que después se llevan a cabo en el taller de la Garrotxa. Lo que era la antigua tienda es el escaparate y la trastienda el taller, ambos abiertos al público.
