Museums, studios, and art galleries linked to Poblenou Urban District will open their doors on May 10 to celebrate Open Day. A day to discover art, design, and photography through different formats, catalogs, and exhibitions.
As part of Open Day, artist Francesca Llopis presents JAPONISMES, an exhibition inspired by her latest trip to Japan. The centerpiece, the video “GON-NG”, will be screened in a continuous loop from 12 PM to 10 PM, offering a contemplative and sensory experience. Through lights, shadows, and silences, Llopis invites us to reinterpret Japanese culture from a poetic and contemporary perspective. Limited capacity.
Open doors day at the Design Museum. Visit the new exhibition “Matter Matters. Designing with the World”, a reflection on the major challenges of design in a critical time marked by the scarcity of raw materials, as well as the museum’s permanent exhibitions showcasing the best in graphic, fashion, and product design.

On the occasion of the closing of the exhibition In the clearing, a forest by Alexander Grahovsky, during Open Day the artist will create one of his iconic landscapes live. Additionally, enjoy a gastronomic offering paired with fine wines and live music from top DJs.

For Open Day, artist Perico Pastor will open the doors of his studio all day long. It’s a unique opportunity to get a close look at the creative world of this renowned painter and illustrator from Lleida, born in 1953. Initially trained in Barcelona, Pastor lived and worked for over a decade in New York, where he gained international recognition through publications such as The New York Times. His style, characterized by expressive lines and poetic sensitivity, unfolds across a variety of formats, from watercolor to editorial illustration and artist’s books.
During Open Day, visitors will be able to see works in progress, chat with the artist, and immerse themselves in the space where his work comes to life.
Rosapalo BCN, the studio of Catalan artist Valls Fortuny, will be closing its doors at Pellaires Street, number 3, after more than 10 years and moving to a new location. During Open Day, come celebrate and say goodbye to a space full of soul, with special art and object sales at unique prices—pieces that have been part of its history.
Visit the free-access exhibition “Decoding the Gesture” and enjoy an interactive experience. Using motion capture technologies and artificial intelligence, the exhibition invites you to reflect and engage in discussion on the civic, social, and ethical dimensions of spatial interaction.
You can also take part in the 11:30 AM talk “Gesture in the Age of AI”, featuring the exhibition curators and subject-matter experts.

Guided tour of the exhibition ‘Plastic. Brilliant or perverse?’, which invites us to reflect on the fine balance between the use and abuse of plastic through visual arts. The exhibition is curated by Núria Vila and produced by Museu Terra, with works from artists Aleksey Kondratyev, Coke Bartrina, Ester Partegàs, Ida-Marie Corell, Ivana Larrosa, Lucas Hope, Mandy Barker, Nick Pumphrey, Núria Val, Octavi Serra, Pepi de Boissieu, Roser Bargalló, Samuel Rodríguez, Sean Lin, Sil van der Woerd, Sílvia Conde, and Sophie Thomas.
