Piramidón awards the Acquisition and Residency Prize during CAN Art Fair Madrid

Once again, Piramidón, Centre d’Art Contemporani, has reaffirmed its commitment to emerging artistic creation within the framework of the 10th edition of CAN Art Fair Madrid, awarding its Acquisition and Residency Prize.

On this occasion, Chilean artist Mara Faúndez, represented by Isabel Croxatto Galería, has received the award for her work Sudoku P.M.. Her artistic practice builds narratives from the anecdotal, often through female figures that function as different versions of herself. Through everyday objects and textual references, she explores themes from the intimate imagination—love, heartbreak, anxiety, identity, or sexuality—set within familiar scenes permeated by an atmosphere of fantasy.

As part of the recognition, Faúndez will undertake a two-month residency in one of Piramidón’s studios. This opportunity will allow her to bring her practice into the context of Barcelona, where she will be able to develop new projects within an environment of exchange with other resident artists at the center.

The gallery La Plataforma also participated in this edition of CAN Art Fair, presenting a carefully curated selection of artists who engage in dialogue from different countries and artistic styles: the strong visual and urban language of Aleix Font Arroyo (Spain), the narrative intensity of Nina Murashkina (Ukraine), and the refined aesthetic of Per Henrik Adolfson (Sweden).
