DesignMatters at BAU: Towards more inclusive and diverse design research

On April 20th, BAU University Arts and Design Centre will host the second conference of the DesignMatters project, titled “Diversity in Design Research. Good Practices and Open Resources”. The event, held at the centre’s Sala Polivalente, is designed as a hybrid conference allowing both in-person and online participation. This initiative is part of the Erasmus+ programme and aims to promote inclusion, diversity, and innovation in doctoral design education across Europe.

The conference serves as a key dissemination platform for the project “DesignMatters: Nurturing Inclusive and Innovative Design Research”. This research, co-funded by the European Union and coordinated by BAU, was created to tackle inequality in higher education. By fostering collaboration between academia and civil society, the project works on developing shared methods that connect university research with the real-world needs of local communities.
